- Shirts—Long and short-sleeved. Button down, pullover, v-neck and crew. T-shirts, tank tops (if flattering to your body type), flannel, denim, fleece, and sweaters.
- Pants—Medium and darker denim project better on camera. Black pants are also good.
- Jackets/Suits—Denim, leather and suede are great. Suit coats, ties and dark blazers are also nice for very specific business looks.
- Dresses/Skirts – Dresses and long skirts.
- Shoes—Bring shoes that make you feel a certain way when you wear an outfit or go barefoot if you like.
- Generally speaking, try to avoid loud patterns in clothing choices. However, they can be effective if you want to market yourself in a less traditional manner.
- Women should bring bras appropriate to different colored clothing and necklines.
- Don’t be afraid to bring clothing that accentuates your body. Avoid logos and bulky clothing that hide your body type
Preparation: It is important to remember that these photographs represent you at your best and most attractive. In order to achieve this goal, please review the following helpful hints:
- Get sufficient sleep the night before your shoot
- Drink plenty of water and avoid the use of alcohol and other substances at least a week prior to your shoot. Make sure that your system is clean. It makes a difference!
- Avoid overexposure to the sun, as tans do not photograph well.
- If you color your hair, get your color re-touched a week prior to the shoot. (avoid roots)
- If you plan to get your hair cut, be sure to schedule the haircut appointment a week prior to shooting, so your hair has a chance to “settle” after the cut.
- Avoid crazy nail polish colors. Natural nails are great, but it’s up to you.
- Make sure that eyebrows are neatly shaped. If necessary, have your eyebrows waxed or threaded - but don’t do this the day before the shoot as your face may be a bit irritated at first. Try to have it done a week in advance.
- Contact lens wearers should bring saline solution.
- If you want to be photographed in eyeglasses, ideally the lenses should be removed in order to eliminate glare.
- Men come freshly-shaven. If you would like to do part of your shoot with facial hair, be sure to bring a razor and shaving cream.
- Make-up and hair-care products will be provided. However, if there is something that you like to use, bring it along.
- Bring your favorite CD’s or choose from my collection. You can also connect your ipod or iphone to my sound system.
- Be sure to allow plenty of time to get to the studio on the day of your shoot. It’s all about staying relaxed and having fun!
